  1. If you have no time to write your thesis, you can get professional help from writing service like http://advancedwriters.com/thesis-help

  2. 1. Odysseus is held captive on Calypso’s island. Symbolic of a things in real life that hold people in a rut until they can gather the inner strength to get out of it and move on towards their true goal. (Ithaca, in Odysseus’ case). Odysseus staying with Calypso is as though he’s in an abusive relationship. He’s unhappy and wants to leave, but he succumbs to her domination anyway (after losing all his men in battle and becoming very vulnerable) and stays on the island for years.
    2. Odysseus encounters the cyclops and outwits him (I believe he or his men strap themselves to sheep, who walk out of the visually- impaired Cyclops’ cave), and later he takes out his eye as an act of vengeance. This could be symbolic of people being able to conquer even the biggest, most formidable problems by keeping composed and using their wits. With intelligence and strategy, a regular man can conquer a mountain.
    3. Odysseus encounters the sirens and fills the ears of his men with wax so they won’t be affected by the sirens’ fatal songs. This is symbolic of a person taking measures to avoid life’s greatest temptations because they know that following temptation will only lead to negative consequences. Example: A drug addict checking themselves into rehab because they know they will end up in trouble if they give in to their drug habit.
    4. Odysseus and his men are guided throughout the story by Athena. This symbolizes human faith, or belief in some guiding force to support you and watch over you throughout life. Religious faith, or just a belief in a force greater than yourself.
I also remember him encountering Scylla and Charybdis, Nausicaa, the ghost of his mother in the underworld, and fighting someone back in Ithaca, but I don’t recall the situations enough to say what they symbolize. Just think about the traits of these creatures/gods and how Odysseus handles them, and you will see how it applies to real life.
So, a good thesis statement would be that Odysseus is a symbol of every man, and his encounters with gods and creatures are really telling the story of man’s journey through life– we all must make use of our resources, including discipline, wit, inner strength, and belief in something greater than ourselves–if we are to succeed in life and reach our ultimate goals, just as Odysseus reaches Ithaca and Penelope at the end of his journey.
    Good luck.

  3. I have a system for writing thesis papers. It takes a while, its boring, but it’s exactly what my teachers/professors want.
A thesis paper analyzes an element and makes a statement about it.
Here is how I write my first paragraph of a thesis paper:
I begin with a broad statement that introduces the topic. I narrow down my topic and elaborate for two or three sentences.
Try to write your entire thesis paper in one sentence. Try really, really hard. Make it a good sentence, make every word count, cut straight to the chase and say exactly what you mean. This is the last sentence of your intro, and it is your “thesis”. Every single sentence in your entire paper must somehow support the claim you made. That means absolutely no summary without direct analysis, and absolutely no quotes without direct anaylsis.
Depending on how long your paper needs to be, prove/support your thesis with really big sections. Three or four big sections should be good. Divide these sections further. Write it first in an outline somewhat like this:
    Intro
    Thesis
    Support A
    1
    2
    3
    Support B
    1
    2
    3
    Support C
    1
    2
    3
    conclusion
Support A, B, and C must all prove THESIS. Statements 1,2 and 3 under A must support A. If you find yourself with information that does not follow this flow, you must either change it, relocate it, or eliminate it. It does not belong in a well-organized paper.
Once you get all of these points down in the correct order with good analysis, you can normally sit down and write the whole thing straight through. Go through once immediately to fix mistakes. Put it away for a day, come back, print it out, edit it by hand.
Most importantly: look at every sentence and ask yourself, “so what?” what is your point?
    Odysseus encounters gods and godesses.
    So?
Well, they bring in a supernatural element.
    Why should I care?
Odysseus’ encounters with gods and goddesses parallels the modern man’s struggle against powers beyond his control.
    Okay, I see.
hope this helps, it’s my system for writing papers.
