Anyone know how the MLA citation for Oedipus the King, translated by Anthony Burgess?

I don't know how to do translated books.
Do I have to press enter then indent before i put the publisher?

  1. It should look something like this:

(Author’s last name), (Author’s First name). (Book Title underlined). Trans. (Translator’s first name Translator’s last name). (Place of publication), (publisher), (Date).

    So for you it’d be:
Sophocles. Oedipus The King. Trans. Anthony Burgess.

And then after Anthony Burgess put the Pulisher and the date it was published! Make sure to underline Oedipus the King though (yahoo answers won’t let me use HTML to underline it…)

    Hoped that helped!

  2. A good on-line source is the MLA site. I found the way to do a translated book (like the others here have already shown you) there.

Your in-text citations would vary, depending on how you quote any material from Burgess’s translation.
