  1. While I found this book to be very comprehensive and easy to follow, I can’t help but notice the “under the radar” injection of leftist propaganda in this book. As I’m not wet behind the ears college student, it’s fairly easy for me to detect some of the stuff in here.

The author uses some, not all, essay samples that have clear underlying tones and messages. The book also injects a bit here and there of leftist comments all while intermingling it with the instructions.—Very clever indeed.

Page 352, belongs to a chapter 16 which provides directions of creating a successful argument essay. This page, shows a picture of a baby looking down the barrel of a handgun. The second paragraph, which is next to pic, talks about a third technique in creating a successful argument essay. However, somewhere down the paragraph, which uses an example of creating an essay arguing the ban of sale and manufacturing of handguns, the author explains how to effective argue this point by using both view points. He states “In this paragraph, you might mention that many citizens believe that gun ownership is a right guaranteed by the Constitution,,,,,” If we examine this statement closely, it’s very curious the intentional context used. In fact what is most curious is that he would state that citizens “believe”. This is purposely misleading to the student, since the right to bear arms is not a belief but a guaranteed right under the 2nd amendment of the Constitution-hence making this a fact.

Then we have another curious essay titled “smash thy neighbor” somewhere in the book, in which the author of this essay compares football teams to the military and says they’re brainwashed and so on. He also states in the essay that “A very large part of our wealth, work, and time, is after all, spent in systematically destroying and harming human life” & “Football is no sicker than the rest of our society”..

  3. Ordered the book to make a class deadline. Emailed seller to ask when book would be delivered. A shipping window of 2-weeks makes a lot of difference when on a course start date. Seller had no response at all to two emails.

Next time, will go to the book store and save the stress of not knowing exactly when the book will arrive. Saving $10 isn’t worth it.
