American History Term Paper Question?
I am going to do a term paper for my American History class, but before I handed in my topic choice, I wanted to make sure it would make sense as a choice for nonother than American History,
The case of the West Memphis Three and the manipulation of the Criminal Justice System.
What do you say? American History?

That’s really current history, maybe something more appropriate for a social studies class. I think you need to go a little further back in time.

I think Jamie makes an excellent point and distinction. In addition to that, you may be taking on too much. If you’re going to do that topic justice, you may have to examine the records or even interview living people in a very fluid and complex situation.
If you choose an older historic matter where, to state it frankly, everyone involved is already dead, the research might be easier and more manageable.
Your topic is ambitious, and you should be commended for that. I’m just not sure that you have the resources, time or talent to take that on.

That is relatively recent, but you could use it in American history. I would say you could use it only if your text includes either mention of the 1993 slayings,or includes history up to and exceeding this time period. Do you have the 90′s in your American History text for class?
