A question about the First Red Scare! For a term paper! Needs help!?

I need to know what role the press played during the First Red Scare. Like what did they do, how did they do it...Stuff like that. Has to be something concrete if possible.. I need help guys!!

  1. As the press does now with anything, they sensationalize it by fact fuding and skewed presentation. They intentionally organize their presentation and even wording of the facts in order to try and keep audience rivetted on their show. Newspapers do a similar thing with their writing, format, location of stories and text size.

    These little tricks were used during the first red scare, although the news show part was slightly different due to the use of news reels. Although they probibly never intended to frighten the public, they did. They exaggerated news and even jumped on false leads in an attemnpt to outdo their competion for money, readers and viewers.
