I am starting to work on college essays. One of them I have to do asks about a significant experience or event in your life. I am going to major in music (double major, but that’s one of them) and want to possibly write about going to piano camp in summer. It was at a college other than the one I will be sending this essay to. Is it ok to write this essay if I have to mention the name of another college, but mainly writing about the importance of piano in the summer, not the college itself?

I am here in this country two years iam having trouble. i wrote one essay as practice would anyone willing to help me work on my essay . if possible please help me i want to improve my writing skills . soon going to college.

I know you can’t write for me but it says to write 350- 500 word essay on why you want to attend their college. I’ve never wrote an essay before. My reasons probably won’t reach 350 words. Do I talk about myself to make it longer or would that off topic? Include stories behind reasons?

Im not sure what to write about. I don’t want to write something like, “I am have good acedemics, I am involved, I am diverse….” College admissions must get like thousands of those types of essays. I’ve seen some really creative ones though, like this one kid managed to tell the story of his life through the perspective of his feet. I just need to get some ideas.

The prompt is, Describe a personal moral or ethical dilemma and how it impacted your life. I just need help getting my essay started, I just need some examples of what to write about.
i understand this is a dilemma I encountered, but I just want some input from other people on what they wrote about b/c it could probably jog my memory or help spark something relevant to me.

Okay here’s the thing this is not going out to any colleges but my teacher want’s us to write about pretty much anything, but that’s the thing I don’t know what to write about.. any pointers guys?

I mean the theme basically emcopasses my experiences, achievements, struggles, etc, but I really did not have a special occasion to be talking about. I’m good at writing essays like the SAT essays or history report, but not personal essays where I have to describe myself while keeping in touch with my individuality. I just don’t know how to convey myself that I am a unique person…Any advice??

I’m currently writing my essays for college applications, and I noticed that for most of them they allow you to “Create Your Own” question to answer. This pretty much gives you the opportunity to write about anything you like, but what are some suggestions for good topics to write about?
