I’m editing a manuscript that has two separate sets of notes to the text: one set of footnotes present in the original text, and a set of endnotes that comprise the critical apparatus. I need to place an endnote within one of these footnotes, and Word won’t let me do it. Is there a way around this at all? Thanks in advance.

I select it and press “Delete”, but Word does not automatically re-number the remaining endnotes. Any ideas, please?

I am writing an essay and I refer to a character from Pilgrim’s Progress. I have to make endnotes for every reference I make to popular works and I was wondering if I needed to include publishing info and stuff in my endnote when I am refering to the novel in general, not just a specific edition. Could you guys give me some examples of how I should do it?

I am so stressed out over these confusing endnotes! Please help me. The endnote began with a 1 on the first page and when I added another endnote on the second page, it started with a 1 again. Is that correct?…or should the numbers be continuous regardless of page?
I am using Microsoft Word 2007, if that helps in answering my question. Thanks!
