My English teacher told me to go home and write a thesis statement on how the character Crooks in the novel Of Mice and Men was alienated based on his race and societies assumptions and I have no idea how to do it!

(Remember: November is National Novel Writing Month)
My latest novel has been lounging on my computer for months. I have a thousand excuses for not finishing it: too busy with other endeavors, writer’s block, my lead character won’t budge, my cat needs food. Oh, yes, I have a ton of legitimate reasons for not finishing my third novel in my Amos Grant mystery series. I feel angry with myself. But then again, I don’t want my cat to starve. I need to write a 8-10 paper on this novel but I cannot come up with a solid thesis. I was thinking about writing about imagery and the writing styles of Atwood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Remember it must pertain to women’s literature.
I think you guys have the wrong book
The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood.

Hi :) I just finished reading a novel and am now writing an analysis on it. I know that the traditional MLA format is: (Author, Page #)
However, i’ve only used that for articles.
When quoting a novel, would it be something like (Chapter, page #) or does the traditional format still apply?
THANKS!
